We are pleased to announce that we have been forunate to receive funding to support the 2004/5 Sustainable Devleopment course from the Development Education Unit of Development Cooperation Ireland.

This is fantastic news as it means that we will be able to carry out the full program of activities planned for this year. Some of these include:

  • Enabling all students at the college to participate in Development Education acitivites that encourage them to ultimately take action within the context of their chosen activities or work to effect change for a more just and equal world.
  • Develop links with a partner college in a developing country so that students can exchange experiences with each other
  • Work with local schools and community colleges to involve local children in the Development Education process, particulalry as it relates to agriculture and food production.

A seperate initiative has seen the launched Distance Learning from the college and the Sustainable Devleopment module is being made available through this system. See our Distance Learning website for more details.

We would like to extend our thanks to DCI for their continued support for the Sustainable Development Project. DCI Website
