With the growing season about to take off, An tIonad Glas, The Organic College in Dromcollogher is celebrating Adult Learners Week by hosting an open afternoon with tours of the college polytunnels, gardens and information on courses. This event will celebrate the key role of food in education from garden to table and show how it can be produced, at home, even in a tiny space.

While soil conditions are still damp and cold in most places, this is the ideal time to start off seeds in trays and in polytunnels so a range of composts, seeds and tools will be on display.

As well as tours and courses information there will be tasting of heritage potatoes, carrots, delicious chutneys, jams, honey and home baking.

A further feature of the afternoon is a talk by Mark Boyle who will guide people on living lightly and trading surplus skills and products, without over relying on banks and financial institutions.

With the joy of learning as a theme of Adult Learners Week, the afternoon will also feature live music, provided by college students.

This event is free and will take place from 2pm to 4pm.  Tá fáilte roimh gach einne.
